ALEXANDRIA – After being down 10 points at the end of the first quarter and trailing by five at halftime, the Cherokee County Lady Warriors surged in the second half to take a 53-40 area basketball win at Alexandria on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors (15-2, 3-0 area) went on a 29-11 run in the second half for the final. They held the Lady Cubs scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Nevaeh Gaidurgis posted a double-double for Cherokee County with 20 points and 10 rebounds. She also had four steals and three assists. Libby Curry connected on three 3-pointers in the second quarter and had 13 points. Deannia Starr delivered seven points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
Jolie Alexander added six points. Ellisan Givens finished with seven rebounds, five steals four points and three assists.
Landry Patterson led the Lady Cubs with 11 points, including three treys. Sumira Duncan delivered 10 points. Allyssa Hunt added nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Charlee Parris and Cali Hess both finished with five points.
