There were no changes for area football teams in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.
Cherokee County (2-1) remains at No. 3 in Class 4A following its 47-6 thumping of Oneonta on Friday. The Warriors host Etowah (0-2) this Friday.
Piedmont (3-0) maintained its No. 5 ranking in Class 3A following a 46-20 victory over Ohatchee last week. The Bulldogs have a bye this Friday.
Class 1A Spring Garden (3-0) remains at No. 8 following its 47-21 win at Ragland last week. The Panthers host Woodville (1-2) on Friday.
One other area team received consideration for this week’s poll: Class 2A Sand Rock (2-1). The Wildcats are coming off a 16-0 win at North Sand Mountain and will travel to Section (1-2) this Friday.
