Lady Warriors finish runner-up to Guntersville in Gold Bracket of Geraldine Invitational

GERALDINE — The Cherokee County Lady Warriors finished runner-up to Guntersville in the gold bracket of the Geraldine Volleyball Invitational on Saturday.
In pool play, the Lady Warriors (6-1) defeated Lincoln (25-14, 25-20), Boaz (25-16, 25-18) and Geraldine (27-25, 25-15), setting up a battle with Plainview in the gold bracket semifinals.
Cherokee County defeated Plainview in three sets 22-25, 25-21, 15-13 to secure a spot in the bracket final against Guntersville.
The Lady Warriors fell in three sets 25-21, 22-25, 6-15.
For the day, Macy Lea collected 116 assists, 15 digs, eight kills, two blocks and an ace. Nevaeh Gaidurgis posted 57 kills, 11 digs, seven blocks, two aces and two assists. Ellisan Givens contributed 56 digs, six assists, an ace and a kill. Raegan Germany delivered 17 kills and four blocks.
Lilly Shaw added 11 kills and two blocks. Libby Curry came away with nine kills, four aces and two digs. Jolie Alexander accumulated 17 kills, seven blocks, five digs and two aces. Ava Haywood had 29 kills, 20 digs, eight assists, five aces and a block. Jesslyn Hincy finished with 13 digs and six aces.
Cherokee County has a tri-match with Glencoe at Jacksonville on Monday.
