Mr. Michael Wood, age 79 of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, June 26th, 2024.
A graveside service will be held 10AM Tuesday, July 2nd, at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Bro. Melvyn Salter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5PM until 7PM Monday evening at Perry Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mr. Wood was survived by his son, Randy (Shannon) Wood; step-grandchildren, Sanea Bennich and Drake Bennich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Wood and his step-grandson, Cody Johnson.
Michael was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Roy Wood and Mildred Pearson. He was a veteran who was a SSG, having served in the United States Army. He then went on to retire from many years being employed as a mechanic at Temple-Inland.
The family requests no flowers and in lieu of, donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
