Funeral service with military honors for Mr.Alton Alex Tierce, 93, of
Spring Garden will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson
Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Ward and Homer Morris officiating. Burial
will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends
Friday evening from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Tierce
passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at his home.

Survivors include his
daughter, Shirley Flynt (Greg) of Spring Garden; grandchildren, Brandon
Flynt and Melissa Richardson (Brian); great-grandchildren, Paisley
Woodall and Ryker Woodall; chosen grandchild, Ella Flynt; special
friends, Robert Jones and Jerry Culbertson; and many more loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Brian Richardson, Jerry Culbertson, Jimmy Berry,
Robert Jones, Homer Morris, and John Tripplet. Mr. Tierce was a lifelong
resident of Cherokee County and a long-time member of Pleasant Arbor
Baptist Church. He was proud to be a United States Army veteran and
served in the Korean conflict. Mr. Tierce was a man of genuine kindness.
He enjoyed spending time and talking with family and friends. He would
greet you with a warm smile and a welcoming hug. Mr. Tierce was preceded
in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Bobbie Tierce and a son,
Randall Tierce
