This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

Outlook through Tonight.

A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow is expected across much of the area today and tonight. Snow and sleet accumulations will be limited to the far northern counties, with accumulations up to 1.5 inches in far northwestern portions of Central Alabama. Light ice accumulations and hazardous travel conditions will be possible for much of the area Central Alabama by Tuesday morning, except the very far, southeastern portions of Central Alabama.

A very cold air mass will move in tonight. Temperatures will drop into the teens across northern and western portions of Central Alabama by tomorrow morning, with wind chills below zero in the northern portions of Central Alabama.

Tuesday through Sunday.

Wind chills below zero will remain possible across northern portions of Central Alabama Tuesday morning. Temperatures will also be remaining below freezing on Tuesday across the northern half of Central Alabama. Temperatures fall into the teens across all of Central Alabama Tuesday night with single digit lows in northern portions of Central Alabama. Temperatures may also fall below 20 degrees Wednesday night.

Another cold air mass moves in Friday night with lows below 20 degrees Friday and Saturday nights. Wind chills may fall below zero in northern portions of Central Alabama Saturday morning.
