Storm Water Project Approved

LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL MEETING 05/01/2023

During the Leesburg Town Council meeting on Monday afternoon, the Council gave the approval for engineering services agreement with Ladd Environmental of Fort Payne for storm water improvements. The amount approved for this phase of the project is $6500 for the services.

For the Police Department, the Council approved a contract with the Alacourt System for department to be able to track their cases through the court system. Chief Chatman told the Council this is the only way his department could know what is going on with their cases. The cost is $150 initial cost and $104 per month thereafter.

The Council approved the 2023 Graduation Package with WEIS Radio in the amount of $500.

The Town Clerk’s Conference is this week in Tuscaloosa with the Town Hall being closed from noon May 2nd through Friday May 5th.  The League of Municipalities conference is the following week with the Town Hall being closed May 10th through Friday May 12th.

Councilman Joe Sonaty told the Council a Local Concerned Resident wanted to do something special for the community so they donated $10,000 to the Fire Department to be used for additional fire hose and safety equipment for the department for the firemen to be as safe as they can while serving the community in various ways including fighting fires.

The next Leesburg Town Council meeting is Monday July 3rd at 4:30 pm.
