Piedmont Police Department Issues Traffic Advisory for Shake-N-Bake Gravel Race

PIEDMONT— The Piedmont Police Department is advising motorists of traffic impacts associated with the 3rd Annual Shake-N-Bake Gravel Race, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The event, hosted by The Place Downtown and Chainbusters, will feature cyclists competing in two separate race divisions on different courses. Both races will begin and end in downtown Piedmont.ra

Police officials are encouraging drivers to exercise caution throughout the day and remain alert for cyclists traveling along the race routes as participants make their way through the area and return to downtown Piedmont.

According to the department, downtown Piedmont will be closed beginning at approximately 6:30 a.m. to allow for race staging activities and the start of the event. Streets in the downtown area will reopen once both race groups have departed.

However, the 100 block of West Ladiga Street, from the Piedmont Police Department to Center Avenue, will remain closed for the duration of the event to accommodate finish-line activities at The Place Downtown.

The Piedmont Police Department is asking residents and visitors to plan travel accordingly, expect delays in the downtown area, and watch for cyclists throughout the day.

Officials thanked the public for its patience and cooperation as organizers and public safety personnel work to ensure a safe and successful event for participants, spectators, and the community.
