VALLEY HEAD – The Collinsville Panthers won two out of three games in the Valley Head Christmas Tournament Tuesday through Thursday.
On Tuesday, they dropped a 52-46 decision to Whitesburg Christian, but won their last two contests against Asbury (37-32) and Susan Moore (60-54) to improve to 7-4 on the season.
In the loss to Whitesburg Christian, Colton Wills collected 24 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Gavin Lang also sank a pair of treys and had 10 points. Mason McAteer finished with five points.
Annin Harper had five 3-pointers and scored17 points to lead Whitesburg Christian. Luke Holbrook came away with 13 points. William Pugh posted 12 points and Isaiah Matthews managed six points.
In the win over Asbury on Wednesday, Wills rang for 21 points, including three treys. McAteer delivered nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Caleb Gentry tallied 13 points on four treys to lead the Rams. Trey Childers finished with five points.
Against Susan Moore on Thursday, Wills netted a game-high 34 points, including three treys. Lang rang for 15 points and a pair of 3-pointers. McAteer finished with five points.
Logan Blackwell led Susan Moore with 14 points. Travis Cook contributed 13 points. Angel Pacheco posted 10 points and Trey Cook finished with eight points.
Collinsville hosts Ider on Dec. 28.
