Warriors to battle Bremen for Cherokee Boys Invitational title

Cherokee County 74, Sand Rock 56

CEDAR BLUFF – Jaden Wilson led four Cherokee Warriors in double figures with 20 points, including two 3-pointers, in a 74-56 victory over Sand Rock in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Monday.

Jack Amos and Eli Martin both netted 13 points for the Warriors. Landon Caldwell contributed 10 points, including a pair of treys. Malachi Horton and Jacob Cornejo finished with nine and eight points respectively.

Jacob StClair scored a game-high 27 points, including three 3-pointers, to top Sand Rock’s scorers. Kaden Justice added nine points and Brian Giles finished with six points.

Cherokee County held an 18-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and built a 39-29 advantage at halftime. The Warriors went on a 16-9 run in the third quarter to take a 55-38 edge.

Cherokee County clashes with Bremen, Ga., in the tournament championship on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Sand Rock takes on Cedar Bluff in the third-place game at 4:30 p.m.

Bremen, Ga. 64, Cedar Bluff 54

CEDAR BLUFF – Sully Senft connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to lead Bremen, Ga., to a 64-54 victory over Cedar Bluff in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Monday.

Cade Costanzo collected13 points, including a pair of treys for the Blue Devils. Carson Barrow and Evan Brown both scored 10 points. Brody Barrow finished with eight points.

Bucky Leek and MJ Adams both scored 11 points to top Cedar Bluff. Caleb Tucker tallied 10 points. Eli McFry managed eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Isaac Bishop and Austin Richardson finished with six and five points respectively.

Bremen led throughout the game. The Blue Devils held a 14-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 28-19 edge at halftime. Bremen led 53-40 at the end of three quarters.

Bremen battles Cherokee County in the tournament championship on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Cedar Bluff takes on Sand Rock in the third-place game at 4:30 p.m.

Handley 57, Spring Garden 53

CEDAR BLUFF – Cannon Kyles collected 14 points to lead the Handley Tigers to a 57-53 victory over Spring Garden in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Monday.

Devontae Higgins added 11 points for the Tigers. Jordan West tossed in eight points. Daquavian Slaughter rang for seven points. Terrence Tucker finished with five points.

John Welsh scored a game-high 25 points to lead Spring Garden. Jake Welsh delivered seven points. Cam Welsh and Jon Marq Rogers both had six points. Chapel Pope finished with five points.

The two teams were tied at 16 at the end of the first quarter. Handley took a 30-24 advantage into halftime and led 43-33 at the end of the third quarter. Handley held on in the closing seconds of the fourth for the final.

Handley will battle Talladega County Central on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the consolation bracket. Spring Garden will take on Gaylesville at 10:30 a.m.

Talladega County Central 41, Gaylesville 37

CEDAR BLUFF – Patrick Dosius netted 19 points to lead the Talladega County Central Tigers to a 41-37 victory over Gaylesville in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Monday.

Thomas Gooden connected on a pair of treys and had 10 points for TCC. Jamier Duncan finished with six points.

Kyler Bradley led the Trojans with 16 points. Tanner Eads added 11 points.

The two teams were tied at 7 at the end of the first quarter. The Tigers held a 21-20 edge at halftime. Gaylesville took a 26-25 lead into the fourth quarter, but TCC regained the lead and held on down the stretch in the fourth for the final.

Talladega County Central faces Handley in the consolation bracket on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Gaylesville matches up with Spring Garden at 10:30 a.m.
