CENTRE – The Cherokee County Department of Human Resources has announced a new main telephone number: 256-926-0004.

The office is located at 202 Dean Buttram Sr. Avenue in Centre. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Alabama DHR’s county directory lists 256-927-1440 for several program-specific calls. Those include adult services, child support, family and children services, food assistance, and TANF or JOBS information.

The same number also accepts reports of suspected child or adult abuse and neglect. The office’s fax number is 256-926-0231.
