Spring Garden girls hold off New Hope, 58-50

SYLVANIA – Ace Austin accumulate 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three blocked shots to lead the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to a 58-50 basketball win over New Hope in the Sylvania Kandieland Shootout on Saturday.

Chloe Rule added 14 points, nine rebounds and a steal for the Lady Panthers (9-0). Kayley Kirk contributed 13 points, including an 8-for-11 performance from the free-throw line. Libby Brown finished with nine points – all on 3-pointers. She also had 11 boards, two steals and an assist.

The Lady Panthers led 18-11 at the end of the first quarter.

New Hope outscored Spring Garden 20-14 in the second to cut the lead to 32-31. The Lady Panthers held a 45-41 edge after three quarters, then went on a 13-9 run in the fourth for the final.
