Two events occurring today effecting Americans. The first is daylight savings time ends today. Most of America returns to Standard time at 2am Sunday. This means more daylight hours during the morning and getting dark earlier in the afternoon and evenings. As we set our clocks back one hour tonight before we go to bed, it is also a good time to check smoke and fire detectors to be sure they are operating properly. Also, we are entering the heating season, so it is a good time to be sure our heat source for our homes are operating correctly and efficiently.
The second thing happening today is the Record Powerball Jackpot of approximately $1.6 Billion. Since there is no lottery in Alabama, residents are traveling across state lines to purchase their chance to become a Billionaire!! More People will have a better chance of being early on Sunday if they don’t set their clock back tonight. The odds of winning the Billion Dollar jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million
