During National Child Abuse Prevention Month, our county leaders have vowed to stand to condemn and combat child abuse in all of its forms — including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as online sexual exploitation; the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center works tirelessly to help raise awareness about the risk factors that can lead to child abuse and neglect; and highlight the importance of supporting families to prevent child maltreatment.
On Tuesday afternoon, officials from the county and each municipality gathered to sign a proclamation is support of Child Abuse Prevention month for the month of April.
CAC Executive Director Lori Harris –
One of the most important tools to break the cycle and eliminate the tragedy of child abuse and neglect is prevention.
During National Child Abuse Prevention Month and throughout the year, the CAC asks that everyone stand together against child abuse and neglect and show appreciation of the hardworking child-welfare workforce and allies who are steadfast in their commitment to strengthening families, protecting children, and combating systemic inequities.
