According to Cherokee County Chief Deputy Josh Summerford deputies and Leesburg officers were in a brief pursuit in the area of County Road 36 in Sand Rock.
Summerford said that a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was erratically driving in Leesburg.
The driver sped away and a pursuit ensued into Sand Rock. Sheriff’s investigators deployed spike stripes and shortly after the driver fled on foot near White Oak Street.
At this time the suspect remains at large.
