Marshall County authorities have identified the body of a female discovered in a wooded area near Grant on Wednesday.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Science confirmed yesterday that 52 year old Sheri Jeanee Adkins of Huntsville was the victim of a violent crime.
Autopsy results confirm the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
