Two Cherokee County residents were arrested on controlled substance charges Thursday.

Darrell Thomas Bates, 37, and Heather Marie Locklear, age 32 – both of Centre – were each charged with the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both were booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center around 4:00pm, where they remain with bond set at ,500 each.
