Three Cherokee County Deputy Sheriffs received certification as a School Resource Officer (SRO) last week.
According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the three attended a 40-hour SRO training at the University of Tennessee’s Law Enforcement Innovation Center. The training is essential to working with and protecting students, faculty, and administration in the school system.
Deputy Thomas Key, Deputy John Sentell, and Deputy Kasey West received the certification this past Friday (October 12th, 2018).
Those three join Investigator Jordan Kelley to make a total of four professionally certified SRO’s in the Sheriff’s Office.
