A Gadsden man was arrested and charged with Possession of child pornography, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Bryon Matthew Sharit, 44, of Gadsden, was arrested on August 15th, and charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography.
Photos of child pornography were discovered on his cellular phone after a search warrant was obtained for his residence. A laptop computer was also seized during the search.
The possession of child pornography was reported by an acquaintance of
Sharit. He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $100,000 cash bond.
The arrest was made based on probable cause, all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
