“Celebrating a New Beginning” Event Held Thursday at the New Floyd Cherokee Medical Center

Hundreds turned out Thursday for the official “Celebrating a New Beginning” event at what is now Floyd Cherokee Medical Center in Centre.  A brief program was presented starting at 11:00am with Cherokee County Health Care Authority Chairman Eric Ellis welcoming those in attendance.

Remarks from Leadership included words from Ellis, Probate Judge & County Commission Chairman Tim Burgess; Floyd Cherokee Medical Center Board Chairman and Floyd Health Care Management, Inc. Vice Chairman, Kay Chumbler; Floyd President & CEO Kurt Stuenkel and David Early, Floyd Vice President for Support Services & Operations.

After the program, everyone was invited to enjoy a cookout with lunch provided by Lanny’s Restaurant, music, and an opportunity to meet members of the hospital staff and management.

The crowd was filled with local community leaders, business owners and politicians as well as members of the general public – all excited about the new partnership, one which brings greater stability and a higher level of quality care to Cherokee County.
