A Boaz man has been charged with ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography and with one count of Sexual Abuse of a Child Less Than 12 Years Old.

According to the News Release from the office of Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin that was issued Friday – 29 year old Cody Night Helton stands accused of sexually abusing a ten year old female beginning in October of last year (2017).  The sexual abuse was reported by a family member.

Investigator Brandi Fuller stated that during the course of that investigation more than 250 photos of child pornography were discovered on Helton’s phone.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation is on-going.

The James M. Barrie Center for Children assisted in the investigation.

Helton is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on bond of $500,000.
