Jeffrey Dean Morgan says he “couldn’t be more proud” of his wife for speaking out about Ben Affleck groping

Getty Images/J. Merritt(LOS ANGELES) — The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan tells Entertainment Tonight he “couldn’t be more proud” of his wife Hilarie Burton, who recently came forward to remind people that Ben Affleck groped her on camera in 2003.

The video of the incident, which occurred when Burton was an MTV host, re-surfaced after Affleck said he was “shocked” to learn about allegations of sexual harassment against his longtime friend, Harvey Weinstein.

On Twitter, Affleck later “sincerely” apologized for what he did to Burton.

At The Walking Dead’s 100th episode celebration at the Greek Theater in LA on Sunday, Morgan told ET, “I don’t want to make a big deal of it because she didn’t, but I think everything that’s come out in the last couple of weeks, starting with Harvey Weinstein — anybody who has talked about it and even those who haven’t yet are incredibly brave and I think it’s time for change.”

“Hopefully all this stuff is going to change this business,” Morgan said, “It’s prevalent all over and I’m proud of all these women. All women and my wife.”

Of his wife of three years — who is pregnant with their second child — Morgan noted, “There’s no one stronger than her. How she’s able to balance all the things that she balances and be a strong voice for good is amazing and I just couldn’t be more proud. Every single day she does something that amazes me.”

“She has made me such a better person,” he admits, adding, “so I’m a lucky dude.”
