Cedar Bluff doubles up on Valley Head in East Softball Regional

ALBERTVILLE – A nine-run third inning helped the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers fight off elimination in the Class 1A East Softball Regional on Tuesday at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville. They defeated Valley Head by the final of 12-6.

The Lady Tigers were aided by 12 walks in the game.

Rylie Walker, Kylie Vadon and Blakelea Hall each had a pair of hits for the Lady Tigers, including a double each. Walker added two walks, three runs and a RBI. Vadon also walked, drove in two runs and scored twice. Hall walked twice, scored a run and drove in another.

Ciana Smith delivered a hit, a walk, a run and two RBIs. Za’Niya Kyle went 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs and a RBI. Kaylyn Vadon collected a hit, three walks, a run and a RBI. Kindal Grace contributed a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Tylee Bradford finished with a run and a RBI.

Hall tossed six innings and scattered four runs (none earned) on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Mackenzie Kimmons worked an inning and gave up an earned run on a hit with two walks and a strikeout.

Cedar Bluff faces area rival Spring Garden on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in an elimination game. The Lady Panthers fell to top-ranked Skyline 8-1 in winners bracket action on Tuesday.
