Cedar Bluff Police Make Two Arrests In Connection To A Break-In At The Coin Laundry; Two Other Cases Remain Under Investigation

Cedar Bluff Police are continuing to investigate a burglary at the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church occurring overnight Thursday.

During the course of the investigation officers received information that the Cedar Bluff First Methodist Church and the Coin Laundry in Cedar Bluff were also burglarized.

According to Cedar Bluff Police Chief Steve Walden, the burglary at the laundry mat was captured on surveillance cameras early Friday morning which allowed police to positively identify the two individuals involved.

Chief Walden says that 19-year-old Xavire Raekwon Hood of Cedar Bluff and 20-year-old Dustin Eugene Mullins were arrested on warrants for Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree and Attempted Theft of Property 4th Degree. Walden said “absolutely nothing was taken during the incident.”

Citing the ongoing investigation Chief Walden declined to say whether or not the two were involved in the burglaries at both churches but did say additional Felony Warrants were expected to be signed at a later date.

The two were released at the Cedar Bluff Police Department after posting $1,500 bonds each.

Chief Walden said that he would like to commend the officers and investigators of his department for their hard work and long man hours in this case.

We will have additional information on this story as soon as it becomes available.
