Four Individuals Rescued From Terrapin Creek On Saturday

A total of four individuals were found to be safe after the kayaks they were in overturned on Terrapin Creek at a location off of County Road 336 on Saturday afternoon.

Rescue personnel from the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and the Ellisville Fire Department along with Cherokee EMS, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and Alabama Marine Police were called to the scene.

One of the four victims was treated by paramedics after it was discovered he had been in the water for an extended period of time, the Ellisville Fire Department had to use a flat bottom to reach the other three victims after sheriff’s office deputies discovered them to be on a small island across the water.

At this time it is not known exactly what caused the boats to turn over.
