According to a News Release from DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris a 48 year old unidentified white male was shot and killed on Friday night.
DeKalb County E911 received a call around 10pm that stating that the victim, whose name has not been released at this time, had been shot. Henagar Police Department Officers and DeKalb County Deputies arrived on the scene and found the male subject deceased.
DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson was called to the scene and transported the body to Alabama department of Forensic science for an autopsy ordered by District Attorney Mike O’Dell.
Sheriff Harris states “we are still investigating this incident and we have one person of interest being held in the Jackson County Jail on unrelated charges at this time. But we have two other persons of interest that was placed in the vehicle with the alleged shooter.
“We are continuing throughout the day to question anyone that was a witness or a person of interest in this case. Please contact the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office or Henagar Police Department with any information that you may have. Any information received will remain confidential. At this time no other information will be released due to the sensitivity of this case.
