Gadsden Police Investigate Case of Assault; Victim Refuses to Name Assailant

Gadsden Police continue their investigation into an incident during which a man was reportedly assaulted and later found lying on the side of the street by his wife.

The woman contacted officers, after finding her husband in the 2200 block of Forrest Avenue at around 4:30 this (Monday, July 1st) morning.  She had been looking for him since about 6:00pm Sunday when he left their Cansler Avenue home on foot, and she added that he’d been drinking at the time.

Police and medics arrived on the scene and saw that the victim had suffered injuries to the right side of his head and had a small puncture wound on the inside of his leg.

The man told officers he knew who had attacked him, but refused to name the individual.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
