Authorities Still Seek Information In Fuqua Murder Case

Carla FuquaThe Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public, regarding the murder of Carla Fuqua.

Fuqua disappeared in 2009, and her body was found last December (2012) in a wooded area, just two miles from her home in Piedmont.

Acting on a tip, investigators searched along Alabama 21, and found skeletal human remains and Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson said dental records later revealed the remains to be those of Fuqua; Amerson added that his office would immediately begin a homicide investigation – as it seemed clear that foul play was involved.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office website, a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or person(s) responsible has been authorized by Governor Robert Bentley.

Anyone with any information on this case should contact the sheriff’s office at (256) 236-6600.
