RAINBOW CITY– Firefighter Clint Johnson has completed his Incident Safety Officer certification through the Alabama Fire College, according to the Rainbow City Fire Department.
The certification prepares fire service personnel to monitor safety during emergency operations. Incident Safety Officers identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend measures to protect firefighters at an incident scene.
The Alabama Fire College lists the Incident Safety Officer program as a 40-hour course. The training is designed for department members who perform Incident Safety Officer duties or serve as assistants in that role.
The course is based on the 2024 edition of the National Fire Protection Association’s emergency responder health and safety standard.
The Rainbow City Fire Department said Johnson’s achievement reflects his dedication to professional development and firefighter safety. Department officials said his continued education also strengthens the agency’s emergency response capabilities.
The department congratulated Johnson and thanked him for his continued commitment to excellence in the fire service.
