According to Coosa Valley News:
Chelsea Renee Martinez, 30 of Cave Spring, was arrested this week after reports said she was found intoxicated in public and then combative with officers.
Police said that Martinez exited a Mason Circle home and aggressively approached an officer. The officer told Martinez to stop and return to the home, but she failed to comply and continued to walk toward them.
Reports added that after numerous commands to stop, back up and return to the home, Martinez raised her arms toward the officer before t tasing her.
Officers stated that she smelled “strongly of alcoholic beverages” and admitted not being able to pass a breathalyzer test.
Martinez is charged with public drunk and obstruction.
Preston Michael Rogers, 41 of Cave Spring, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned and attacked a pregnant woman at a home on Park Street.
Police stated that events began when Rogers poured a beverage on the victim as she slept.
When the victim attempted to leave, reports said that Rogers held her against the driver’s seat of the car until she passed out.
Rogers then slapped the woman until she woke up.
The incident occurred in front of three children.
The victim is reportedly 7 months pregnant.
Rogers is charged with simple assault, battery, false imprisonment and 3rd degree cruelty to children.
Bonnie Jo Upton, 40 of Cave Spring, was jailed this week after she conspired with two inmates at the Floyd County Prison to sneak in drugs. Reports said that James Emory and Timothy Patnode spoke over the telephone with Upton to drop off contraband at a designated spot in Floyd County.
Officers said that they were able to retrieve the items before the inmates. The items recovered were a 12-ounce tub of Stoker’s brand smokeless tobacco, one Geek Bar brand vape, two rolls of black electrical tape, and several plastic baggies.
Upton is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, items prohibited by an inmate, and use of a communication device in the commission of a felony involving controlled substances.
