Cherokee Chamber Breakfast Held in Conjunction With the Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County

 

Centre- The Cherokee Chamber held their monthly breakfast on Thursday, April 10th in Conjunction with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County. At the meeting, the Annual Proclamation Signing in regards to April’s Child Abuse Awareness month was held. Mayors and representatives from Cedar Bluff, Centre, Gaylesville, Leesburg, and Sand Rock, as well as from the Cherokee County Commission signed proclamations showing their support for the agency and victims of child abuse.

 

 

Lori Howell, the Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County was the keynote speaker for the event. She thanked the local community leaders, organizations, law enforcement agencies and personal that worked with the agency to do so much to support and protect children in the county and the communities. Blue, or blue and silver Pinwheels were visible throughout the room, and you may have noticed them near schools, homes, businesses, courthouses or other places in your community. The pinwheels serve as a visual reminder of the healthy and happy childhood all children deserve. They are also a reminder that not all children unfortunately,  have that opportunity and how we must stand to protect children, and support those who have been victim’s of abuse.
