Gaylesville earns 10-4 baseball win at Sand Rock

SAND ROCK – Gaylesville’s Collin Hendon tossed 5 1/3 innings of three-hit ball. He didn’t allow a run and struck out nine Sand Rock batters in the Trojans’ 10-4 baseball victory on Tuesday.

Hendon also helped himself at the plate with a hit, a run and two RBIs.

Jared Butts delivered a pair of hits, including a double, with a run and a RBI. Bradlee Smith and Hunter Allmond also had a pair of hits. Smith added a walk, a run and two RBIs. Allmond had a walk, two runs and two RBIs.

Landon Chumbler came away with a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Alex Baty collected a hit, a run and a RBI. Cole Hendon and Karrson Ray both contributed a hit and scored a run. Timmy Dawson walked and scored a run.

Baty also worked 1 2/3 innings on the mound. He gave up three earned runs on a pair of hits with three walks and a strikeout.

Cam Gifford went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk and a run to lead Sand Rock. Morgan Tucker tallied a hit and drove in a run.

Sand Rock hosts Pisgah on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Gaylesville hosts Valley Head on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
