Megan Moroney on her dream tour + lessons learned from Kenny Chesney

Remember when Megan Moroney pranked Kenny Chesney and rode a mini John Deere tractor onstage during the final show of his Sun Goes Down Tour?

It was all fun and laughter, except Megan almost fell off that little bitty toy vehicle.

“Honestly, I don’t know if y’all saw, but it was in second gear when it should have been in first gear and I almost popped a wheelie and busted my butt,” Megans recalls in a press interview. “But that was so much fun.”

She continues, “That weekend was my favorite weekend of the tour, and that tour was my favorite tour of all time. I’ve been asked recently in interviews like, ‘OK, well what’s your dream tour?’ And I was like, ‘I think it would be to go back on the road with Kenny.’ Just learning so much from him as an artist, a performer, and then also becoming such good friends with him and he’s just a great person.”

“It’s cool to surround yourself with people like him,” the “Tennessee Orange” singer adds.

When asked about lessons she’s gleaned from touring with Kenny, Megan says “there’s probably a lot,” but underscores a standout.

“Just watching him and realizing that he plays for over 90 minutes every night, probably like 120 minutes or something, and he doesn’t even play all of his hits,” she says. “A big note that I took was, OK, you got to write a lot of good songs because it’s just incredible that he can play for that long and then doesn’t even play some of his most known hits because he doesn’t have time.”

Megan’s currently in the top 20 of the country charts with “Am I Okay?”
