CENTRE– Centre Police Department officers recently completed two days of training and professional development. The department said the work helps prepare officers to serve residents and keep the community safe.
Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga and Officers Brandon Thompson and Josh Thompson completed a Royal Arms instructor course. All three earned certifications through the Flash Bang and Ballistics Breaching Instructor Course, according to the department.
Officers then completed their annual Firearms Qualification Certification. Mayorga, Brandon Thompson, and Officer Tanner Young led that training as the department’s firearms instructors.
The department also acknowledged that residents may have heard loud booms and bangs during the training. In addition, it emphasized the importance of preparation behind the scenes.
The department also thanked personnel for their continued dedication to Centre residents and invited the public to congratulate the officers.
