A 2-year-old toddler received serious injuries when struck by a vehicle on West Main Street in Centre Friday evening. It was reported from the scene the child suffered a laceration to the head.

The child was transported to Atrium Floyd Cherokee Medical Center by Centre Police Officer. The child was stabilized before being transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham by Atrium Floyd EMS.
The accident occurred just after 6 p.m. near the King Street intersection on West Main Street.
The Centre Police Department is conducting the investigation.
