Centre City Council Meeting

The Centre City Council held two Public Hearings during the Council Meeting Tuesday afternoon to consider changing the Zoning of two separate parcels of land from Highway Commercial to Single Family Dwelling.

One parcel to be considered is owned by Jerry L. Culberson, Patricia A. Culberson and Jerry L. Culberson II. It was approved for the change.

The other parcel to be considered is owned by Chris Brock. It was approved as well. Both parcels are on Powell Drive or adjacent to it.

Two bills were approved from the Donnie Weaver Electric Company, One was for the repair of the main lights in the City Park in the amount of $3,350. The second was for the repair of the handicap control on the Main Entrance of the Community Center in the amount of $1000.

Mayor Mansfield informed the Council it was time for the City to acquire a vehicle from the DeKalb Cherokee Gas Company. This year it is a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck in the amount of $4,216.95. Councilman Phillip Roberts told the Council, the amount is 25 percent of the actual value. It was approved.

Poinsettias purchased for the City’s Christmas party were declared surplus and will be given to City Employees.

The next Centre City Council Meeting is set for January 14, 2025 at 5 pm
