Collinsville City Council Regular Meeting

During the Monday afternoon Collinsville City Council Meeting, Mayor Johnny Traffanstedt addressed the Council with the Mayor’s Report. The Mayor discussed the bathrooms in the jail being completed. He said they look really good.

Traffanstedt then called on Collinsville Chief of Police Andy Brown to weigh in with the discussion. Chief Brown told the Council the toilets will have to be replaced and the floor will have to be painted because that’s what the County told him. But, the Mayor and Chief Brown both agreed it looks 100 percent better than it did.

After that, the Mayor told the Council that nets are ordered for the pickle ball courts. Jill Tidmore, the City Clerk, said she would double check on the quotes for those nets. The Mayor also informed the Council that he will start looking for a new building to keep the garbage truck and new backhoe in for the winter.

City Clerk Tidmore told the Council Farmers Communication will have all the phones changed out by October 1st. Also, Librarian Jennifer Wilkens spoke to the Council about Park it Market that will be Wednesday, September 25th from 11:3 am until1:30 pm at Collinsville Drugs for vegetable giveaways.

Next on the agenda, Council member David Bowen informed the Council he’s been working on the Trailer Grant for $ 84,950 and it’s looking very good.

The next Collinsville City Council Meeting will be on October 7th.
