Cigarette Smoking in the United States at Historic Low

Currently, only 11% of American adults report having smoked cigarettes in the past week. This matches the lowest rate recorded since 2022. These findings come from Gallup’s annual Consumption Habits poll. This was just conducted from July 1 to 21st. Between 1944 and 1974, at least 40% of American adults reported smoking. But, now, its just over 10%.
