The jackpot for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing is estimated at $527 million. That’s because it’s been a dry summer for the lottery.
No one’s won the big prize since June 4. In fact, only two people have won it this year.
By this time last year, the jackpot had been hit eight times.
The odds don’t change, though. You still have less than a 1 in 300-million chance of winning.
Mega Millions holds the distinction of being the only lottery game to have awarded six jackpots worth more than $1 billion, all in different states — New Jersey, Florida, South Carolina, Maine, Illinois and Michigan.
Tickets are sold in 45 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Drawings are conducted at 11 p.m. Eastern on Tuesdays and Fridays
