Rome Police are investigating a reported “Armed Robbery” early Sunday morning at the South Side Mart on South Broad Street.
According to an incident report, an individual dressed in black clothing, with gloves, white shoes, and a face covering entered the store at around 4:00am. That subject – who was armed with a handgun – forced two employees to open the cash register. Afterwards – the two employees were forced into the game room where two gaming machines were opened.
After getting the money – that was estimated to be from $2,600 to $3,800 – the suspect left the store, running toward McGee Street.
That person is still being sought.
