Cherokee County Public Library Plans Holiday Decorating Program and Ornament Workshops

Cherokee County Public Library holiday programs featuring Deck the Halls with Dana Carroll and Christmas ornament workshops.

CENTRE– The Cherokee County Public Library will offer holiday decorating ideas and Christmas ornament workshops during November and December.

The programs will take place at the library, 310 Mary Street in Centre. First, a Brain Bites lunch-and-learn session will introduce festive do-it-yourself décor, followed by a series of ornament workshops.

Deck the Halls With Dana Carroll

The library will host “Deck the Halls with Dana Carroll” at noon Nov. 19 as part of its Brain Bites series.

Participants should bring their own lunch. However, the library will provide drinks and dessert while attendees learn about holiday decorating ideas.

Christmas Ornament Workshops

The ornament workshops will then begin at 2 p.m. on each scheduled date. Because space is limited, participants should call or visit the library to sign up.

The schedule includes:

  • Nov. 24: Paint-your-own ceramic ornaments with With Love Paint and Clay Co. The ornaments should be ready for pickup about a week after the event.
  • Nov. 30: Painted canvas ornaments with Kim Serio.
  • Dec. 7: A workshop with Freddy Reynolds.
  • Dec. 14: Yarn hat ornaments with library staff.
  • Dec. 21: Honeycomb paper ornaments with library staff.

For more information about either program, call 256-927-5838. To reserve an ornament workshop space, participants can also visit the library at 310 Mary Street.
