Historical Society Meeting to Focus on “Tooga Theater” on Sunday
The next meeting of the Chattooga County Historical Society is being held on Sunday, July 14th. The topic of the meeting will be to focus on the historic Tooga Theater in downtown Summerville. Also, a back and forth discussion will be taking place about the on-going renovations at the historic theater; the Tooga first opened its doors back 1947 and continued in operation as a movie theater for over forty years. The building served as the headquarters for the Chattooga County Shrine Club, until it was purchased by the county in 2015 under guidance by the former Commissioner Jason Winters.
The Sunday meeting will be held at 2:00pm – at the Historic Summerville Depot.
Meetings are Open to the Public.
