A man was shot at his residence on County Road 71 in the Woods Bend Community. According to the report, two black males entered the residence, an altercation occurred between the resident and the two men with the resident suffering a gun shot. He was transported to a trauma center by Atrium Floyd EMS,  where he underwent surgery for his injuries. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm Saturday with Cherokee County Deputies, Leesburg Police and Centre Police responding.

Chief Deputy Josh Summerford tells WEIS Radio News, the subjects knew each other. The investigation continues; this is all the information being released by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department at this time.
