Mr. Walford Franklin Keith, of Gaylesville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the age of 87 years. Born in Floyd County, Georgia, on January 26, 1936, to the late Eugene Keith and Emma Anderson Keith, he was a man of integrity, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family.
His life was marked by his enduring dedication to his loved ones. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Ann Benson-Keith, he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
He is survived by his sons, Ray, Brian, Timmy, and Henry Keith, whose lives are an illustration of his enduring influence and guidance. Walford’s joy was multiplied through his cherished and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and meaning to his life.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Walford served his country with honor and distinction. His expertise in diesel mechanics was a career and a passion, enabling him to make significant contributions in his field. His meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving acumen were the hallmarks of his successful career.
Above all, Walford was a devoted family man. His presence was a source of stability and love. He shared in every joy and challenge, providing unwavering support and wisdom. The love story he shared with his wife, Dorothy Ann, was one of deep affection and mutual respect, a testimony to their enduring bond.
The Keith family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Walford’s life. A visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia, 30165, on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens, 3594 Alabama 68, Gaylesville, AL 35973.
Serving as pallbearers are his sons and grandsons, Henry, Timmy, Brian, Ray, Adam, Ricky, and Zach Keith.
Walford’s life was a beacon of love, service, and devotion. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
