An apparent altercation between two brothers, left one man deceased on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred inside a vehicle, on Highway 35, near Watson’s Crossroads. It appears the driver of the vehicle was under attack from his brother, a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.  The victim was 47 year old Billy Mitchell of Gaylesville. The case remains under investigation by Sheriff’s Office investigators, the JSU Center for Applied Forensics,  The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office.
The case will be presented to a Cherokee County Grand Jury.
