Man Swallows Marijuana during Arrest

A Cartersville man is facing multiple charges after scuffling with officers, and according to Floyd County jail records, 30-year-old Romaine Antonio White resisted being placed into handcuffs, and he refused to get into the police patrol vehicle during his arrest on Park Avenue in Lindale.

While being searched at the jail – he reportedly put suspected marijuana into his mouth and swallowed it.  White refused to spit the marijuana out and reportedly started to fight with officers as they tried to put him back into handcuffs.  He threw elbows, grabbed and squeezed an officer’s legs – and scratched an officer’s hand.

White is charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction – tampering with evidence – and simple battery against a law enforcement officer.
