A brand new bigger and better highway – a four-lane – is now officially open between Cherokee and Etowah Counties BUT keep caution in mind as you travel back and forth along that route. Construction work is still being performed in many areas along the road, and all motorists should be alert and exercise extreme caution – with the area still dealing with some, mostly infrequent, delays.
A recent Ribbon-Cutting event took place for the new stretch of Highway 411 recently featuring Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, Representative Ginny Shaver, and Congressman Andrew Jones, along with many local and state leaders.
Representative Shaver:
Again, even though the roadway itself has been completed – workers are still in the area – making many locations listed as an “active construction zone” – so again exercise caution when traveling that stretch of roadway.
