Strong thunderstorms barreled across Northeast Alabama with hail and high winds in select areas on Sunday.
A number of trees were taken down by those high winds across Cherokee County during the afternoon hours, with some strong thunderstorms leaving damage behind in places. The Piedmont Nusing Home also had their air-conditioning unit knocked out in one wing of the facility during that time.
