Woman wanted for murder, man sought for questioning in fatal shooting of Anniston man
A woman wanted for murder in the fatal Thursday morning shooting of a 39-year-old Anniston man should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Sgt. Jason Hawkins of Anniston police said authorities are also searching for a man they want to question in the case.
Officers responded to the 4300 block of Skyline Drive around 10:05 Thursday morning on a call of shots fired.
As officers were on their way, they were notified that several vehicles sped away from the scene. One of the vehicles was flagged down near the intersection of Noble and 21st streets and officers conducted a traffic stop.
Inside the vehicle was the victim, 39-year-old Traveno L. Burnett, of Anniston. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified Tanquilla LaShay Thomas, 35, as the suspect in Burnett’s slaying.
A warrant was issued for Thomas’ arrest. She was still at large as of 8:00 Thursday night, and should be considered armed and dangerous.
A man, 36-year-old Thomas Tramaine Cunningham, is wanted for questioning in connection to the slaying.
