Caroline Ann Johnson, 92 of Centre, passed away on April 18, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at a later date
She is survived by her children Judith (Mike) Rives, David (Lisa) Johnson and Jane
Wilson. She has five grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson, Blake Wilson, Casie Wilson Reed, Ross Johnson and Kirk Johnson. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Ann was born on November 9, 1930 to John and Caroline Proctor in Scottsboro, Alabama. The family moved to Centre in 1946 when John became the Ford dealer there. Ann graduated from Cherokee County High School in 1948 and studied a year at Shorter College in Rome, Ga. and a year at the University of Chattanooga. She married Jeff Johnson of Centre, while he was home on a 30-day-pass from U.S. Air Force in 1952.Their first year of married life was spent in Anchorage, Alaska.
When Jeff opened up J&J Auto Parts, Ann was the bookkeeper for the business. After Jeff passed in 1999, Ann went to work at her son David’s business, Bama Green.
Ann spent the last 11 years of her life at Cherokee Village Assisted Living, where she had an additional family to love. She also grew close to some special caregivers the last few months. Ann loved children, nature and walks in the woods.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Caroline Proctor, her husband, Jeff Johnson, her brother,Johnny Proctor and a son-in-law, Dennis Anderson.
